In our Sesame chocolate, made entirely by hand, we find the echo of the influence of Arab domination which has left its marks in many aspects of life in our Sicily.
Ispica, in the province of Ragusa, has always been an important agricultural center, thanks largely to the presence of water. Here is conserved a very ancient and particular production, introduced in Sicily by the Arab domination: the sesame , a little seed with a strong flavor that characterizes many recipes of Sicilian cuisine. The Ispica sesame variety, inserted in the slow food foundation, was selected two centuries ago by farmers of the area and it is characterized by the size of the small seed, the amber color and the strong avor.
A mediterranean flavor for a chocolate that is unmistakable because of the nicely and cryspy consistency of the sesam produced by “Natura Iblea”.
